“Le Trièvois” knife came from a region near my native county, called the “Trièves”. A beautiful place in the Alpes! This knife is made of boxwood and its blade is made with carbon in my case. Have a look on the black-smith website.
I took my inspiration from the arms of a little city called “Mens” in the “Trièves” area.
There are 2 four-leaf clovers, an heraldic lion and a dolphin.
– The Lion symbolizes majesty, monarchy, strength, supremacy, courage*.
– The dolphin (Dauphin in French) was first a nickname, then a title of the lords of Dauphine de Viennois, counts of Albon-Viennois and, from 1349, the title carried by the eldest son of the King of France. He then designates the heir apparent of the crown, until his coronation*.
– The “Dauphiné” is a large area which include “Le Trièves”, and others…
